Omkar Hegde

I have recently submitted my Ph.D. thesis titled “Vapor Mediated Interaction in Droplets” under the guidance of Prof. Saptarshi Basu. I am a Research Associate in Prof. Saptarshi Basu Lab currently studying microbial motility under the influence of fluid flows in droplets in collaboration with Professor Dipshikha Chakravortty from the Department of Microbiology and Cell Biology, IISc.

I have learned in my Ph.D. that what may seem to be a simple phenomenon could actually be surrounded by a world of mysteries. What may seem very tiny may actually matter the most. Micro-Nano world has flabbergasted me. After all, big things come in tiny packages. I have started believing in curiosity-driven science.

I am an interdisciplinary package with expertise in microscale fluidics and soft matter. I am open to opportunities, postdoctoral positions after graduating from the lab.
